Stop Chasing What Wants to Leave
Exodus 14:8-9
8 And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.
9 But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.

It was like Pharoah was chasing someone who didn't want to stay. You can't make anyone stay if they don't want to stay. Eventually they will leave. If the Children of Israel liked being where they were in Egypt they would have stayed when they were free to go. At first they were bound yet when they got freedom they didn't want to be there. They didn't like the place they were at and so they left. I know what it's like to chase after someone who doesn't want to be there. It hurts, I doesn't feel good at all. You wish they would stay they have a choice to they are free to leave. Yet seeing them leave knowing that they choose to leave well how could you make them stay. The prodigal he had a choice and I bet the father wanted to run after him. Please stay son. Yet he didn't want to stay. He wanted to leave. Yet the father didn't Chase him he let him go. God knows you can't make anyone stay who doesnt want to be here! How can you make someone stay that doesnt want to be their anymore? You can try to chase them. Yet in the end your only binding someone up whose mind is already been made up that they want freedom. Wither or not their freedom will hurt them or really set them free. The prodigals freedom got him bound up. Yet the Children of Israels freedom set them free!

21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

The Children of Israel wanted their freedom so bad that moving forward showed they were ready. Ready to let go of what had them bound. Their faith was in God as he parted the Red Sea. Moses didn't have to stretch forth his hand in faith. What if nothing happened this time as he went to move forward. What if the sea never parted? Yet he had to believe that he could have the freedom that he wanted. When we come to Christ we take a step of faith now knowing what will happen. When I first came to Christ it was because I was tired of being bound down. I was tired of staying in a place that only caused hurt and pain. I was ready for a new life, ready for something I wasn't getting from the world. Ready for Freedom and I needed it. The prodigal Son after he got bound up from being in the world living his prodigal living he decided he wanted freedom again. He wanted to go back to a place that didn't have him eating out a pig pens. He wanted to go home to his father. He wanted the freedom that God brings! Alot of people believe that coming to God only bounds them up yet the truth is when you walk with God he only free's you from the ways of the world that bound you up. That the devil has deceived you into believing that, that is true freedom. Just like he deceived Eve to eat of the fruit and sin is in the world. Yet Christ came to redeem us so that we can have freedom!
Someone Wants to Save You!
Exodus 14:30
30 Thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.

God saved them that day out of bondage. They got their freedom they wanted they had been rescued out of harm and danger that once held them down. I think about Rahab (Joshua 6)when the Children of Israel entered into Jericho. They saved her from behind that wall. Saved her away from her life style. She would no longer have to be in bondage behind the walls of Jericho. No longer have to be a prostitute. Yet she could live in freedom! Just as the Children of Israel they no longer had to be in bondage behind the Red Sea or even the Jordan! Yet they could be free on the other side. Only to look back at what would just be a memory of what was and what no longer is. Safe from harm, from danger. Yet you have to be willing to be saved. If Rahab was not ready to stop living behind the wall and no longer be a prostitute she would have never had the faith she did in God to hide the spys. You have to want to be rescued out of your situation! The Lord Saved the Children of Israel because they were willing to be saved and rescued from were they were! They wanted to go. The prodigal when he went home to his father its because he wanted to be there! When you want to be some where you won't have to chase because you will be there you wont have to try to hold on tight to keep something that wants to be there. Rahab never had to chase the Children of Israel for her freedom because Joshua and his men said they were going to rescue her and thats what they did. When you come to Christ he will never leave you nor forsake you you never have to worry about him walking away. Yet the thing is he can't save you unless you want to be saved?

It's Time to Let Go
Exodus 12:29-31
29 And it came to pass, that at midnight the Lord smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.
30 And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
31 And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the Lord, as ye have said.

Sometimes we hold on to people and the more we hold on to them the worst things get. To a point that we don't just hurt ourselves but others around us. By Pharoah not wanting to let go he hurt his whole kingdom. Put others lives in danger. How many times do we do this we won't let go so we hurt others in the process. We hold on to fears, we hold on to people, we hold on to past hurts. There has to come a point were you just let go! Where you say enough is enough im tired of how me not letting go is effecting those around me and also effecting myself.
